Justice Syeda Tahira Safdar 🔹 Who She Is First female Chief Justice of a High Court in Pakistan — she led the Balochistan High Court from 1 Sept 2018 to 4 Oct 2019. 🔹 Early Life & Family Born 5 October 1957 in Quetta, Pakistan. Her father was Syed Imtiaz Hussain Baqri Hanafi, a well-known lawyer. 🔹 Education Primary & secondary — Cantonment Public School, Quetta. Bachelor’s degree — Government Girls College, Quetta. Master’s in Urdu Literature — University of Balochistan. LL.B. (Law degree) — University Law College, Quetta (1980). 🔹 Judicial Career Started as Civil Judge in 1982. Progressed through senior judicial roles — District & Sessions Judge, Member and later Chairperson of the Balochistan Services Tribunal. Elevated to High Court judge in 2009; confirmed in 2011. Took oath as Chief Justice, marking history as Pakistan’s first female chief justice of any high court. 🏆 Notable Achievements First female at every level she served in Balochistan judiciary.
